The statement “If you don’t need money, you will make a lot of money” is true to many people. In Rich Dad Poor Dad, the rich dad tell the kids that he has met people who aren’t interested in money, yet they still work long hour days. He says the people just have a passion for their job. If people don’t care and worry about how much money they make then will end up being surprised in the long run with the money they earned working.
This quote means that if you don't want money, or don't look forward to spending any then you make some by working with your neighbors or doing other side jobs. Most people don't want to get paid from doing chores because it's not that big of a deal but for most, they need extra on hand just in case they have to pay for a bill or two.
The statement “if you do not need money, you will make a lot of money” has some depth to it. In the book on page 55 rich dad says “first, the fear of being without money motivates us to work hard, and then once we get that pay check, greed or desire starts is thinking about all the wonderful things we can buy. The pattern is then set.” If we work for money alone, then we are simply doing it out of greed. Then the same greed persuades us to spend money on wants. No one ever gets anywhere with greed in their heart. But when you work with money not in mind then your whole attitude changes. Now you are working for yourself, and you’ll do things (investments, savings, stocks) that now benefit you and your money.
Just because you have the money, doesn’t mean you need to use the money. If you do not go off and spend hundreds of dollars on pointless items, you will have more money to save for something bigger and better, or have even more money that could be used to invest.
“If you do not need money, you will make a lot of money” this statement means that the more you learn to live without money, the more you will be making, as you aren’t used to living a rich life. The “rich dad” is said to be very good with his money, by handling it wisely. However he still lives in a tiny house with a run down vehicle. He does not look rich or like a guy that is smart with his money. You would never guess that he has multiple business, or would soon become one of the richest men in Hawaii. That is all because “rich dad” learned to live as if he didn’t have money. He didn’t let money control his life, instead he still worked for it, but never feared not having enough, or about losing the money.
The statement, If you don’t need money, you will make a lot of money,” is something more people should try and understand. So many people say, “Oh, I’m not interested in money,” but what do they mean by this? If they weren’t interested in money, then why are they working? Most people do not know that it is there emotions doing the thinking. The fear of not having enough money generates that thought. People become slaves to money because they do not learn about it. By not giving into your emotions, you are able to delay your reactions and think, and now you are working for yourself because you love your job.
When I hear the statement, “if you do not need money, you will make a lot of money” it makes me think about working for yourself compared to working for others or wealth. When you work, usually it’s because you need the money you’re working for to survive, pay bills and other things. It’s not to get the money and spend it on stuff you want to be selfish with it. Yes you can spend money on things you want, but when that’s the only thing you’re spending your money on then you’re wasting it and won’t learn self discipline or start to build wealth.
